Newsletter 7-11-14

Up, up and away!!!!

Hot air balloons, rocket ship and aeroplane resources are all over F1X unit. The children continue to explore these resources and have been learning lots of new vocabulary.



In our role play area, the children have been pretending to go on a picninc and ride the hot air balloon. They have been using the words 'up', 'sky', 'balloon' and 'come'.



In the reading area where our rocket ship is, the children are learning to count. They have been saying '1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... Blast off!!!' The children have also been wearing astronaut helmets and pretending to ride our rocket ship too!



Our aeroplane is in the small world area. The children have been playing really well with our aeroplane resources and using the words 'up', 'down', 'clouds' and 'sky'.



Also this week, we have put up our 'Show and Tell' corner where we put children's books or toys from home that they can share with their friends. Everyone enjoyed looking at their friends' books from home and are learning to say 'Can I borrow please?'.

Next week, we will continue to focus on our air transport theme and set up our own airport in the role play area. We are looking forward to another exciting and adventure filled week!

Show and Tell
You should have received an email from Ms Precious about 'Show and Tell' next week.
Just a gentle reminder to please not bring in any precious or expensive items.
Again, here is a list of ideas of what you can put in the bag:
• something creative they have done at home. e.g. a painting, model or collage
• an item linked to their interests or hobbies
• photographs or drawings of their family members
• photographs from places they have been as a family
• a leaflet or souvenir (natural or bought) from a day out/trip/holiday

Swimming:
Just a polite reminder--if your child is unable to swim, please present a medical certificate to your child's class teachers. Thank you!
