Vietnam Airlines have opened their first branch in our very own classroom! Low fare flights are now on offer, just approach any of the F1 children in booth and they will gladly assist you with your trip!
The role-play area is such a big hit with the children this week! They have been role-playing as pilots, flight attendants, airport personnels, staff at the ticketing office and tourist/passengers. They are confidently using big words such as passport, boarding pass, ticket and money as they play in our airport role-play area.
Here are the easy steps they take to finally take their flights:
1. Get a ticket at the ticketing office.
2. Proceed to the airport, present their passports and tickets at the counter and get their boarding pass.
3. They can board the plane but they need to look at their seat numbers very carefully and make sure to seat on the chair with the right number!
4. The flight attendants give them food and drinks and.....the flight is over!
The children have also been talking about where they are off to.
Gianna: "I go to Korea! I see snow!"
Eine: "I go to Thailand with my Mummy!"
Nini: "I go Singapore!"
Ngan: "I go to Singapore!"
Well done children for a great role-play this week! We are very impressed!
This week, we have started developing the Investigation area. Ms Hoang brought in some snails and we have been looking after them. Ms Trinh has also been developing sensory pots with a variety of natural resources. This is to encourage the children to explore natural resources and their textures.
In the Maths area, we have been threading transport stencils. This is to help the children's hand-eye coordination and develop the children's problem solving skills.
For our small-world, we have been playing with the airport small-world. The children have been using the aeroplane duplo and flying it up and down.
In the workshop area, Ms Christine had helped the children paint their peg aeroplanes. The children even used their aeroplanes when playing with the airport small-world!
For our circle sessions, Ms Precious and Ms Crislet have been reading stories about aeroplanes and good manners. We have also looked at a virtual tour of an aeroplane in the Interactive Whiteboard.
This week, we have also started Show and Tell. This is a great way to encourage children to share something from home and help their language development. We had Marcus, Gianna and Minh Anh this week and they all confidently shared their toys with the class. Well done!
What a busy and fun week indeed! Fantastic playing and learning children!
