PHILIPPINES
Our day began with a cooking activity. The children helped in preparing 'turon', a popular snack/dessert in the Philippines. The children enjoyed eating 'turon' and some even had two or three servings!
After our 'hello time', we were so luck to have had a visit from Gianna's Mummy and Daddy. Ms Grace read a Filipino story about the legend of pineapples. Whilst she read the story, Gianna's Daddy drew the characters and the objects from the story. Gianna was so happy during this session! She was so proud to have her mummy and daddy in class!
A big thank you to Mr Paolo and Ms Grace for a wonderful story session!
Ms Christine have also prepared a Powerpoint presentation about the Philippines. She was dressed-up in a 'saya', one of Philippines traditional costumes when she showed us Philippines' treasures. We saw mountains, hills, beaches, traditional clothes and other national symbols. Ms Christine also taught us some Filipino words such as 'mahal kita', 'kamusta', 'paalam' and 'mabuhay' (i love you, hello, goodbye and welcome)
Thank you Ms Christine!
In the afternoon, we ha d a chance to wear a Filipiniana (Philippines' traditional costume). We also danced carinosa, a Filipino folk dance.
Well done children for a fantastic day! We hope you learnt lots of things about the Philippines!
