Royal Last Week!

We had a fun and amazing last week in F1X!

We waved our wands and said our ABRACADABRAs as we hopped on a bus to 3 Brooms of Somewhere Land. We fastened our seatbelts and sang F1X's favourite song, The Wheels on The Bus. As we entered the place, we waved "Hello!" to the witch by the entrance. The children's first stop the kitchen where they mixed eggs, chocolate and flour for the cupcake batter. Whilst waiting for the cupcakes to be ready, the children went around the Wizard's Room and saw Wizard paintings and Spell Books. Afterwards, they headed to the crafts area where they used their creative hands to colour a soft toy and paint a ceramic figure. Some children also had a chance to go around the witch's house and have a look at the rooms. As a reward for being enthusiastic and well-behaved during the trip, the children had a yummy chocolate cupcake treat! For photos, please click HERE.

In the workshop area, the children decorated crowns with shiny paper and sequins. The children used the glue properly and placed the decorations one-by-one. They truly exhibited good fine motor skills as they picked up the sequins with their pincer fingers. The children proudly wore the crown during our Royal Ball.

Last Wednesday was our moving-up day! The children spent an hour in the F2 classroom and played in the different learning areas. They freely explored the classroom and most of them enjoyed the superhero role-play area.  They also had a wonderful time getting to know their new teachers for next year: Ms Clarissa, Ms Thuy, Ms Tu, and Ms Nhat. Ms Precious and Ms Clarissa showed a photo of Ms Gurvinder who will be joining F2 later in Term 1. It will surely be a fun and exciting year next year as they move up to F2!

On Thursday, We baked a cake with Ms Crislet and made brownies with Ms Christine. The children had a go at pouring the ingredients and mixing the batter! We had our yummy castle cake as dessert during the party, yum yum!

To celebrate a great and fantastic year in F1X, we had a Royal Ball. The F1X team decorated the classroom with lots of balloons, giant cupcake and princesses standees! The children went to school dressed up in beautiful gowns, dresses, coats and bows; they all looked so gorgeous! They put on their crowns and danced like princesses and princes in a royal ball! Of course, party won't be complete without food! We ate a lot of delicious food brought by the F1X mummies and daddies. (Thank you!) The children and their teachers also played Pass The Ball and Stop Dance after watching Beauty and The Beast! It was a lovely last day for everyone!

It was surely an active and memorable school year of fun and learning for the whole F1X team and it won't be as amazing without the support of our lovely parents. Thank you so much for being with us. We will see each other next year as the children move up to F2!

Have an amazing and restful summer holiday everyone!

Newsletter 19.06.2015

It has been a royal, magical, and witch-tastic week for F1X. The fairy godmother paid a visit to our classroom and instantly transformed it into a Royal Castle! She even left a rack full of beautiful long gowns, royal capes, shiny crowns and elegant tiaras for the children to wear! They were so excited to put them on and walk around the classroom as princes, princesses, kings and fairies. The children enjoyed some tea and cake inside the castle whilst others danced around holding their dresses like princesses in a ball!

Of course, Fairy Tales won’t be complete without magic wands! In the workshop area, the children designed star and heart wands with glitter and sequins. They had a go at sprinkling glitter around the wand. “It’s so shiny!”, said Minh Anh, Gianna and Ngan. The children showed excellent fine motor skills as they pick up sequins and stick it into the wand one by one. They waited patiently and when it was all dried up, it was finally time to give it a wave and say, “Bippity, boppity, boo!”

In the playground, the children put all their creative hands together to colour a big castle with Ms Christine and Ms Cheska. They hurriedly put their aprons on and had a go at sponge painting. “I want a purple castle!”, said Eine. “Green paint please!”, said Sarah. The children made sure that they don’t mix the paint together and that they didn't leave a spot unpainted. The castle turned out very colourful and magical. As a final touch, Ms Christine added the photos of the children who helped out. Well done children!

We learned about different classic fairy tales in class this week. We watched Cinderella, Snow White and The Little Mermaid in our IWB. The children saw princesses, princes, kings, witches and fairies and acted them out in the classroom. “I want to be Cinderella!” said NiNi. “I am a prince!” said Hung. We also watched real royalties dance in a ball. The children quickly put on their crowns, capes and gowns and looked for a partner!  They all looked so adorable as they danced gracefully with their friends.

Not only did the children dress up as royalties, they also put on their purple capes and witch’s hats! We made different potions all week with Ms Cheska also known as, Witch Sabrina. She turned a tiger into a prince and made a poison apple potion! The children helped Ms Cheska put the ingredients inside the cauldron and mixed them up until the potion bubbled up. Of course we did not forget to say the magic word, “ABRACADABRA!” The children were so amazed that they tried making their own potions in the investigation area. They added spiders, pasta, water, food colour, oats, googly eyes and mixed them all up!  It was surely an entertaining week with Witch Sabrina!

Last Thursday, the children had a fantastic time in the Fundino playground as we conducted Water Splash Day! Ms Crislet and Ms Precious prepared water balloons, soap and sponges for the car wash, a big bubble tray, and opened the splash pool. The children freely and happily explored all activities with their teachers! It was surely the best way to end all our swimming activities this year, well done!

The children definitely enjoyed this magical week and we will carry on with our potions and fairy dust next week. For now it’s time we give our magic wands a rest and enjoy the weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms Christine, Ms Crislet and Ms Precious

End of Year Class Party

During one of our circle sessions this week, we have talked about the food that we would like to have on our royal party. We made a list of the children's responses and compiled the pictures on a slide. Yesterday, each child chose one food that they would like to eat and share with their friends on our party. Please see below for the food choices. We have attached a slip with your child's choice of food on his/her invite.

Please be reminded to bring in a plate of food good for 10 children. Also, please ensure that the food are already prepared in small portions.

Thank you very much!

Newsletter 06.12.15

This week was very busy yet very special for the entire F1X class. We spent our morning and afternoons practising our dance “I Like Bananas” and singing “Naughty Animals” for our End of Year Production: Let’s Get Fruity! For 2 days the children went up to the sports hall to sing and dance enthusiastically on stage. They danced beautifully and flashed their big smiles in preparation for the final show. They were also excellent in waiting patiently and quietly whilst the other children are performing.

Last Wednesday, we turned the Fundino Playground into a carwash! The children had so much fun squeezing sponges, scrubbing the cars and rinsing away the bubbles. They scrubbed as they identified the parts of the car such as wheels, horn, seat, door and windows. They enjoyed it so much that they didn’t mind getting wet under Mr. Sun!

In the Tuff Spot, Ms Christine prepared pink and blue gloop for sensory messy play. The children scraped the gloop with their bare hands and let the gloop run through their fingers! Some of them even rolled balls and soon as they let go, the gloop dripped off their hands. “It’s melting!” said most of the children. They also scraped the gloop with spoons and put them in cups and invited their teachers to eat blueberry and strawberry ice cream!

We have been doing a lot of cutting in the workshop area this week. The children cut through dotted lines and they we’re all persevering enough to cut through the entire sheet. It was surely a challenge for the F1 children but they we’re all excited to get a hold of the scissors and have a go at cutting. They enjoyed picking the colour of the card they want to stick their works in. We are glad to see that almost all of them already know how to use the glue stick properly. Great job F1, keep it up!

This morning, the children were very excited to tell their friends and teachers that it was raining outside. Ms Precious took some children to the foyer to watch the rain. The children sang Mr Golden Sun as the rain poured down. Danny said that the people need to use an umbrella to be able to walk through the rain whilst he pointed to the guard outside. Later on, the rain stopped and the children were so glad to see Mr Sun again!

The children had a go at shaking musical instruments with Mr Robbie in the music room. They were asked to choose one from the baskets of tambourines, jingle bells and maracas. They shook the instruments quickly and slowly according to how Mr Robbie played the piano. They had so much fun naming and playing the instruments!

On the day of the show, mummies and daddies were very happy to see the F1X children in their different fruity costumes! The children looked so adorable being dressed up as apples, bananas, oranges, watermelons, plums and cherries! They bravely went up the stage and waited patiently for the music to start. The smiles on their faces whilst on stage showed how excited they were to see their mums, dads and grandparents in the audience. The children’s favourite parts have got to be jumping to “ I like plums ” and wiggling their bottoms as they sing “and cherries too! ” The F1X teachers are very proud and happy to have seen the children perform with confidence! Ms Precious gave out stickers that said “I am amazing!”as a reward for a wonderful show!

Well done F1 children for an amazing performance and being very active this week. We would like to express our gratitude to our dear parents for your support and participation during the EYFS End of Year Production, thank you very much! Have a wonderful and rewarding weekend everyone!
