Newsletter 06.03.15

First of all, we would like to welcome Henry and his family in our F1X family! Henry joined in last Monday and we are looking forward to having great times with him in F1!

As EYFS' community partner, we had a visit from Ms Koto, an education officer from Animal Rescue and Care. She talked to us about how we should take care of our pets. This visit was an introduction and a preparation before having 2 more visits from a vet and a couple of ARC's pets.

This week's focus theme is pet animals. We are encouraging all the children to take care of our class' pets (2 dogs, a cat and 2 rabbits stuffed toys in our vet role-play). The children are taking turns in being a vet and looking at the 'sick' animals. They use the stethoscope, the syringes, bandages and more!

We have also been playing with fish, fishing nets, boats and water in the Tuff spot.

In our workshop area, we have been making paper plate animals. We are done with the chicks and we have just started making our dog paperplates! They will soon be on display on our classroom windows.

For Literacy, we are encouraging all the children to draw on their mark making books and describe them to us. We have been observing how the children hold pens and noting down what descriptions they gave about their drawings. It is amazing how most of them are already able to ascribe meanings to what they have drawn. Your child's mark making books will be sent home one weekend.

It was Mako and Kazuki's turn in Show and Tell this week. Mako shared her ballet costume and Kazuki shared his toy microphone. Thank you Mako and Kazuki for sharing them with us!

In the Soft Play Room, the children have been showing their creativity in making up their own games. They have been playing running race, counting at the same time from 1-10 and then running from one end of the soft play room to the other. They have also been playing ring games and singing songs.

Well done children for another great week in F1! Fantastic!

NOTICES:

Late slip: Please do not forget to secure a late slip from the office if your child comes in late. School starts at 8am. We understand that there are a number of reasons why your child may come in late on occasions but we encourage everybody to come in on time regularly. This helps set a routine for your child and for him/her to fully explore all learning areas in the morning.

Splash Pool Sessions: As previously mentioned, please provide a medical note if your child will not join our splash pool sessions.

Thank you very much!

Have a great weekend!

Kind Regards;
Ms Crislet, Ms Precious and the F1 Team
