In the mark-making area, we have been encouraging the children to see the hidden transport through a tray of salt by using the brushes. This activity helps in developing children's fine motor and investigation skills.
In the malleable area, Ms Christine made a 'space' play dough. The children had fun exploring its soft and stretchy texture.
In the investigation area, we have put sand, gray tempera paint and glitter to have a moon surface-like texture. The children have been digging and using a variety of resources from the continuous provision.
In the role-play area, we have two hot air balloons that take us up, up, up in the sky! The children loved going in and pretending to fly around in it.
On the carpet, the children have been playing with small-world air transport, aeroplane duplo, soft blocks and stickle bricks. Some have been making aeroplanes, towers, rockets and houses.
In the Mathematics area, we have been counting gems and completing inset puzzles.
In the workshop area, we have used the transport stampers and made a collage of colourful transports! We have also coloured a big hot air balloon picture and we loved working together!
This week, Ms Precious taught us a new song, '10 Little Aeroplanes Flying High'. We fly like aeroplanes whilst singing this song! We also sang '5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer'.
NOTICES:
* For show and tell, can we ask you to have your child bring in his/her favourite book about air transport (rocket, aeroplane, spaceship, hot air balloon etc) on Monday.
* Just a reminder that we expect ALL children to swim regularly. Please bring your child's swimming kit (towel and swimsuit, both labeled with your child's name) every Tuesday and Thursday. Any child who cannot swim on our splash pool session days must show a medical certificate indicating that the child is not fit to swim.
Thank you very much!
Have a great weekend!
Kind Regards;
Ms Crislet, Ms Precious and the F1 Team
